Default Local Farmers Market?

I read in another post about not having a farmers market? IS there anywhere you can buy fresh produce?

No farmers' markets? Untrue! Here's a thread that lists 13 of them.

http://www.city-data.com/forum/san-a...c-produce.html

Maybe you were reading the couple of threads here discussing CSAs? There is no longer a community-supported agriculture provider in the area, but there are plenty of farmers' markets.

And I'll put my plug in again... I love poking around farmer's markets as mch as anyone else, but if you're busy or don't have the inclination to get to one and still want locally-grown/organic foods, check out Greenling Organic Delivery - Local food and Organic produce and groceries home delivered - Austin and San Antonio for home delivery. Seriously awesome.

Just plugged in my zip code to Greenling. Guess what. They don't deliver to my zip code. Most of the farmers markets that are listed in the posts above are pretty transient and at odd times and places. I hate buying my produce from mass marketers. I grow what I can myself but, of course, I can't grow everything in my small backyard garden. I can't go veggie shopping mid morning on Wednesday. I haven't been down to the new Plaza that they built downtown. Would this be a suitable place for a really diverse market on Saturdays? Maybe Saturday morning/early afternoon?

I don't know what zip code you live in, but I'm pretty sure they deliver to virtually all parts of downtown/central SA, northeast, north central and northwest SA. Helotes and far northwest is not available yet, though. I happen to know the owner of the company, and he's really trying to increase service in SA... they just added an extra delivery day so delivery is now 3 days a week locally. If you like their service and are near their normal delivery areas, you can call them and they might be able to add you to a route that comes close to you. I think they will also deliver to your office, too. Just a thought. Thinking about this is making me hungry

i have seen in the parking lot of Grady's on Bandera rd on certain mornings there are vendors (?, not sure what they are called) that sell produce --- i think it might be on Tuesday mornings, around 9am --- that is usually when i go and get groceries and i pass by there --- although i don't always see them, so it might be a seasonal thing...
