Question day care & after school care $$?

Hi all, okay I am currently in NJ where most everything is absurdly over priced
I'm wondering if I can get an idea from you all about how much day care for an infant would run in the NW part of SA. Also, does anyone use the after care programs for their kids in NISD? If so, are they any good & how much $$ do they run?

Unfortunatley it looks like I'm going to have to work outside the home for a while due to some unexpected (and UN fun) expenses we have incurred the last year or so.

Thank you sooooooooo much for the help. I am SO grateful I found this site - you all have been priceless as far as information & support!

Tamster is on a distinguished road
I am out of daycare years, but can help with afterschool info. There are several private programs (i.e. Karate) that pick up from local NISD schools. Most run about $200-$250 a month. YMCA also provides care in many of the schools. You can go to YMCA of Greater San Antonio to see what schools they cover. I believe it is about $175 a child, and there are small discounts for a second child.

Urban Ministries also runs some after school and summer programs in various schools in the city. My son attends the after school care program at his school and it costs us $182/month. I think next school year will go up to $185 or $190.

In the medical center (which is NW, although maybe not where you need), the few daycares I looked into were starting around $150/week for centers. Inhome tends to be a little less.

We pay $100/week for licensed, in-home, but she's on the southside, which tends to be cheaper overall.

NorthEast is 175 per month for care 2:45-6:00pm. I would imagine that Northside is similar.
