Just returned from an overnight in Beeville. Gas was $3.06 at a Valero on 181!! I wanted to fill up, but didn't have enough room in the gas tank to make much of a difference.

There is a website devoted exclusively to current gas prices; let's not clog up this forum with unnecessary gas price postings which are out of date by the time they are read. Here's the link:

It's even possible to find out the cheapest gas in town via text message from your wireless phone.

Just text "cheapgas 78209" to 41411, substituting your own zip code if you don't live in 78209. In less than a minute, you'll get a reply with the location and price at the lowest-priced station within a few miles of you. Right now that method tells me that the Pilot Travel Center on IH-10 is priced at 3.179/gallon.

How accurate is the info on that site, anyone know? It's all submitted by normal folks, right?

Curious because the list had the cheapest at 2.99 but when I went to the map, there is one on the map at 1.20-something!? Surely that's someone trying to be funny, right??

There are now seven places listed at $2.99/gallon and that Sunny's place is now at $2.89.
