2.84 at that new huge station at 151/potranco... and at the station on the other side of 151 that *used* to always be so high! Competition is a Good Thing!

Yep, my mom is currently in Portland working on the house (her house, she rents it out) and she called me about the gas prices.

They do have an ATM inside though... we didn't realize until we were at the pump that they only took cash, but found the ATM inside and figured it was worth paying the darn ATM fee after waiting in line for gas.

oil is currently at $84.80 barrel NYMEX.com (that will of course change when anyone else clicks on it because it's very dynamic). Hard to believe we were coming up on $150/barrel not too long ago.
It's MUCH for fun to watch this instead of the stock market..

gold is insane and I watch it every day too. You could make or lose a fortune on it in just a few hours. It has gone up a wee bit over the past few years, though. Where my wife works (jewelery store) they have to constantly change their prices to keep up.

$2.71 now at the HEB at O'Connor and Nacogdoches. Too bad all of the HEB stations here don't change their price in lockstep.

If it's anything like Potranco, they will soon and they won't have a choice. The down side of having some of the lowest gas prices is you also gain a lot of extra traffic. I don't know if it's always like this, but my wife says every time she drives by the gas stations they are packed with people.
It's still a very good thing, though. The average US price is $3.26 and even most places in Texas are still in the $3.20's. Corpus is the only one beating us, but I just checked sanantoniogasprices.com and there is now a place that has it for $2.66 and they also offer a 3 cent/gallon discount for cash. I almost can't wait until the next time I fill up my truck. Maybe I can actually keep it under $40..
