I saw one this weekend over at 1604 and Bulverde that said "Starvin Marivin." I thought about getting some food, but then I remembered all ya'll's stories and I didn't feel like getting rejected.

He probably made more than normal; that's hilarious!

Maybe it was by Rittiman that I saw him. I was at both intersections that day. I have a bad memory sometimes.

several years ago, here in SA, panhandling and selling on the streets was banned, its become an epidemic again, there were people doing a booming business on some corners making as much as $400 a Weekend, yes, that was the take, for two days, and they bought mainly alchohol and cigs, but as far as I can see, the law is still on the books, just not enforced.

Came across this on YouTube...not San Antonio (Chicago, actually) but I am sure a lot of it applies here...

Investigative reporter Jonathan Choe explores the underground world of panhandling

At least it shows we aren't the only ones who are having to deal with it! And there are comments similar to many on here for that video...

Cheers! M2

I ran into the same chick/girl/lady/person on both Fredericksburg (fred rd and 410 about to turn onto 410 west) and again at Ingram and 410 (about to turn onto 410 East). The first time I wouldn't look at her and she yelled "B*TCH" right in front of myh window and the second time she slammed her hand on my window. I called SAPD as I was driving off both times but I wasn't gonna stick around to file a report. I've never had an incident like that before and then to have it happen two times!? I wanted to grab her, shake the cra* out of her, throw her in my trunk and then drive her over to a really REALLY mean area of town and drop her off on a corner to panhandle THERE. I don't bother people who don't bother me but when you YELL AT ME (and my daughter was in the car, btw) or TOUCH my stuff, I have a problem. I'm all for someone making a big stink over this again and putting a stop to it even if it IS only temporary.

Wow, Diggin. That's pretty crazy. There are some people out there who would have retaliated in a bad way, justified by claims of self-defense and protection of family.
