Alternatives To Time Warner
I thought I'd start a new thread since the U-Verse thread is specific about it's features.
WOuld anyone care to share their list of services they use for HD cable/ phone/ internet and how their experience has been using them?
My reason for asking is because recently, I've had some serious customer service issues with Time Warner that have been ongoing for the last 3 months.
After more than 5 yrs of being a customer in good standing, I am unsatisified with the way I have been treated by the 'account supervisors' I have been working with.
SO if you have any comments, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

we have high speed internet thru AT&T --- so we pay our phone and internet bill together --- apx $69.00 a month for both ---
for tv we have Direct TV --- HD satellite --- we love it --- we have 2 recievers and 1 dish w/ a dual something or other on it --- the reciever in the bedroom is the HD one and it has DVR so we can pause live tv and record tv series etc...the high def is amazing --- we pay about $60 a month for the service and so far have been very pleased with their customer service --- we had an issue with one of the recievers and they sent a new one out and we had it the next day, no charge --- we got the movie channels, all of them, free for 3 months when we signed up, but i did not renew them as honestly, we don't watch the movie channels a whole lot, and with $1.00 redbox rentals we just rent and burn...
hope that helps...

This post goes in depth with a lot of the other options in San Antonio:
http://www.city-data.com/forum/san-a...e-u-verse.html
The choices I can think of the top of my head are ATT U-verse, Direct TV, or Dish Network.
I heard Grande was being bought out, but I don't know for sure.

Time Warner Alternatives? I wonder if Comcast is coming to SA anytime soon?
I dumped Time Warner because they were a nightmare to deal with. Intermittent internet and phone service, "glitchy" digital cable, used broken equipment, and always a different price per month. And of course horrible customer service.
I switched to DirecTV for my TV services and I love it. I got the HD DVR and everything. It's cheaper that stupid TWC and the customer service is great. I currently have AT&T internet and it's fast, but not fast enough, I love speedy internet because I download large files for school and work.
Now, I need someone for my internet service. My friend in Houston has Comcast services and they've never given him any trouble. I wish TWC wasn't a monopoly in this city.
Anyone heard of Comcast expanding to SA?

I just merged this thread with an older thread that discusses alternatives.
