I would like to plan a weekend road trip throughout all of San Antonio. I'm looking for great scenic routes, "must see" places out in the hill country, good places to stop for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

If you were planning a road trip, what would be on your agenda?

Breakfast--Magnolia Pancake House, or Las Palapas for breakfast tacos. I've heard people recommend a place--Rolando's?, but I do Las Palapas.

Lunch--Gristmill Restaurant in Gruene.

Dinner--way too many choices. Little Italy for Italian. Demo's for Greek. Mi Tierra for touristy Mexican. Little Red Barn or Barn Door for steak. Casbeers for burgers and live music. There's a really good BBQ place out on 1604--east side, I think--and I can't remember the name, but the food's good. Also for BBQ I recommend the Blue Cactus Cafe--it's really good.

You have to see the Riverwalk if you come here. It's most beautiful at Christmas, but nice year-round.

Have fun--and then head out to Fredericksburg for a day. Lots of shops, and great German food!

Must see and eat......there is a little road stop cafe out side of Fredericksburg owned by someone in a relatively famous band (Moody Blues perhaps can't remember) very good food and very interesting place will try to find the name. Also in Welfare Tx (Hill country area) go to Popos famous place good homecooking food. Hwy 16 is a great drive in the Hill Counrty also 1376 is good, Takes you through Boerne and Sisterdale and smaller towns ends up in Fredericksburg about a mile from the Wildflower farm which in a good year should not be missed in spring
