As far as HEB goes, per their webpage, "We will continue to expect shoppers to wear masks while in our stores. Additionally, we will still require all our Partners and vendors to wear masks while at work." Previous to that their policy was they would "urge" shoppers to wear masks. From a news report (WSJ) dated March 18, "H-E-B also said it would continue its policy of not escalating situations in which a customer refuses to wear a mask."

Notice their policy is they "expect" (not require) shoppers to wear masks, while they "require" their workers (and vendors) to wear masks. For all intents and purposes, HEB is a mask optional business. As I see it the language of their policy was written to appease both sides.

Also, on a different note, I recently travelled through San Antonio International, and saw some people walking through the airport maskless, and I didn't see anyone approach them about not wearing a mask, but they may have been approached later.

You'd have to be a complete idiot to approach anyone about them wearing/not wearing a mask. Not worth the time. Mind your own business.

So very many people want to believe in the protection offered by masks. Too bad science cannot find the connection.

I wear mine to show my patriotism ! I'm a good person too, see the mask proves it !

I do think masks are less nutty than giving the vax to children.

Masks I see everywhere in San Antonio and even the Canyon Lake area are at 100% compliance. Not so much in the smaller Texas towns. I think mask compliance pretty much matches trust in government.

Does the Pres and CDC's relax the mask have any effect in liberal Texas cities ?
Can I get rid of one of the two that I wear ?
If I go completely maskless do I have to show my vax papers ?

Vax papers are easy to make on a copy machine, in Texas consider 80% of the people you meet W/O masks are probably anti-vaxers.

CDC...?

The same group that has muffed everything they touch in Covid (including the first tests) !

i would not be getting my technical info from CDC or a POTUS (who thought this "no-masks-for-those-vaxed" edict would encourage more people to vax. He must be a kindergarten teacher.

Be glad you are not a flight attendant!

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/am...?ocid=msedgntp

American plane behavior is out of control. Flight attendants like me are sick of it.

They are having to play the roll of kindergarten teacher all day, everyday. A new batch of abusive students every 2 hrs...

Traveled around Minnesota this week with stops in Iowa and Missouri. From what I saw and heard, the locals were fed up with mask lunacy and were ready to revolt.

I know the Austin mask mandates stands. I have not seen anyone out and about here without masks on unless it's outside. My understanding is that they'll revise eventually. if it's anything like the schools here, it will happen sooner rather than later. The only time I've seen people without masks on has been when I've been in SA and in Port A.

Really? I was on Rainey street last summer and most people walking around in a few bars had no masks.

Were you inside or outside? Because you were also in prime hipster "COVID doesn't apply me" world. I've been to Rainey once in the almost 6 years I've lived here, and that was with someone who was visiting me from San Antonio.
