Has anyone received their tax rebate? I was supposed to be on the first go round of checks but have received nothing.

I filed ontime, got my income tax refund through direct deposit, and the last two numbers of my social are 00. I don't get it!! What is taking so long.

A small percentage of tax returns will require additional time to process and to compute a stimulus payment amount. For these returns, stimulus payments may not be issued in accordance with the schedule above, even if the tax return was processed by April 15.

as posted on the irs web site

Stimulus Payment Schedule for Tax Returns Processed by April 15 (http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=180250,00.html - broken link)

Maybe you made too much money to get a check?
I'm not scheduled until July so I don't have anything yet. And I know my check will be very small because I sold an investment property in 2007. Makes me mad because normally my income is quite low. But the year they are giving out those checks, I make a little bit of a profit on my rental house.

BTW, I did taxes for my deceased grandfather. Will his estate get a check?? How will they send it. When I did his taxes, he owed 4 dollars and I had it debited from my checking account.

I was supposed to recieve mine on May 9th, however I filed with H&R block through direct deposit. After my wife spoke to the IRS on the phone we found out that they in fact wired the money...but to H&R block. I am not sure how it all works, but If we had paid the H&R block fee instead of having the company taking it out of our taxes, we would have actually recieved it on May 9th. H&R block sent it back to the IRS and now we'll have to wait until June 20th or so to get ours by paper check. We asked if maybe we could just get the money from H&R block but we were told that there cannot be a third party involved...which makes sense, I guess, but it was worth asking. You never know. *Sigh*

Weird!
Sounds like a refund anticipation loan (RAL) or something.
Where H&R block's finance company gives you a short term loan. Then when the refund comes in, it goes straight to Block to pay off the loan.

RALs cost several hundrend dollars. Instead you might have gotten the other thing (I forgot the name of it) but like you said it's kind of like they take the fee out of your refund. It is still a loan. But instead of giving you a loan for your entire refund, they just give you a loan for the tax filing fee. And just like the RAL, they get their money paid back when your refund comes in. And just like RAL, they charge a pretty good fee for this small, short-term loan. You probably paid an extra 30 or 40 dollars for them to do that.
