[quote=sapphire;3756498]Well, since you have a plate number, shouldn't that make things easier? I mean, they should be able to find the idiot that way. Of course, he's probably going to report the car stolen and blame someone else for it, but at least you could try to identify him.quote]

Well I would assume it makes things easier if they have witnesses, then just he said she said. Though damage to a car is also evidence, witnessess would be very helpful. At least it is when i watch "The First 48" on A&E.

The power of a whole lot of people looking out for somebody can really bring results.

This became legendary a few weeks ago:
Internet Posse Busts 'The Claw,' Canada's Dumbest Car Thief

The short version - a guy is selling a car, someone steals it. He gets on a regional message board with pics and a description of the guy and someone else spots him driving around. They found the car out in front of his house a short time later and the cops haul the mental defective off for good. Guy gets his car back, and a $20 in the console!

Default I paid

I paid to look up the license #. All it says is that it is a car leased out by Ancira. The police do know who it is, as does Ancira and hopefully my insurance carrier. I will eventually get the information I believe. It was suggested by the Sheriff dept. that I work with the homicide detective to get the identity, just to know where this person lives. I would not retaliate. I will get justice through the proper channels! Unfortunately, this guy may know where I live, but I have no clue about him...YET!

Default Yep!

That is why I am posting this. I also posted to Timberwood Park website. This is where I believe this person to live. If any of you know anyone who lives in Timberwood, ask if they know of anyone driving that type vehicle. I will find out who he is soon enough...somehow.

I'd do anything to protect yourself and I do mean anything.. the law is much more on your side this year
this person needs to be off the road and probably isn't doing anyone any good anywhere else either..

I shall heed your advice. I just want to know this person lives and what other vehicles he drives so I can try to stay away from him until they arrest him!

It's coming up on evening over there. Somebody should drive around and see what there is to see.

Yes. Unfortunately, I just have the wrecked vehicle with the bumper hanging off. My husband and I will drive around when he gets home.

I'd let the cops handle it. The OP shouldn't go looking for trouble, cuz with this looney tunes, that's probably what he/she will get. People get shot for far less.

I know what he meant. Just try to find the vehicle and where it belongs. I wouldn't take my car, just in case. I'd be in another car. It probably isn't going to happen before sundown anyway. I hope the police do their best!
