I have no clue why people are so worried about being less wealthy than Austin. Why would anyone strive to be the best?

Geez...ok...San Antonio isn't trying to be like Austin, Chicago, NYC or Timbuktu, for that matter. Why would San Antonio want to be like other places? If it was, it wouldn't be unique. Just let it be, for pete's sake.
Better?

Because some of us realize that San Antonio is not living up to its potential, and if it doesn't "wake up and smell the coffee", collectively, and ackowledge this, Austin WILL surpass it.
San Antonio will have the larger population but Austin will be at the heart of corporate activity and influence in central Texas, plus, will have a more developed urban core with lightrail (something SA can only dream of). The takeover has already begun...

I just have bigger and much better things in my personal life to worry about. I am more focused on things that I actually have a little more control over.

And I'm gonna ask you again,
where is the money to build those skyscrappers for San Antonio gonna come from?
You want to drive a Ferrari without going to work,
San Antonio has to invest in education to create a large pool of highly skilled workers to attract companies just like Austin did.
