Default Can't decided which Subdivision

Red Bird Ranch or Sundance Square?

Husband is down in SA now and has found an inventory home in each neighborhood and can't decided. Are DR Horton (Red Bird) homes generally better homes? The Sundance Square is a KB Home.

He likes the homes equally. The Sundance Square one is more expensive.

Just looking for opinons, based on what you know, which neighborhood do you think is better between the two?

We have a 4 year old that will be starting kindergarten in 2009, is Ott for both neighborhoods?

TIA!

I really like Redbird Ranch.....that would be my choice.

Isn't Sundance Square closer to Marbach.....? That area doesn't seem as nice (if that's the area I'm thinking of.....)

Husband said Sundance is right of Potranco. Not too far from Red Bird.

You are a brave and trusting wife if you're going to let him decide without you having seen it! Or do you like having something to hold over his head later?

My husband and I had some pretty big differences when it came to the houses we looked at and wanted, so we both had to learn to compromise. I mean, when one wants a 1 story (me, who lost ) and the other wants a 2 story (him who gloats ) what else are ya gonna do? But there's no way he'd be deciding alone!!

Good luck! It's all nice out there, so even if he's on his own, you should be OK!

And welcome to San Antonio!

Redbird Ranch offers more and your home will appreciate more (so will your property taxes though).

BTW: What happened to Sundance Ridge? It's not on KB's website anymore.

KB is more of a cookie cutter home, at least DB Horton will be a little more of a custom home, the Red Bird subdivision will be the better for future than the Sundance. KB has lower resale, and higher maintenance.

Steel Man- Husband is telling me it is called Sundance Square. Is that different from Sundance Ridge?

Sapphire- Ha ha...everyone I know has commented on letting husband decide on the house. This will be our 4th move (we are military) and he has always gone ahead and picked out the house. I am fine with it. The way I look at it is that it isn't our "forever" house. I, too, would love a one story, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of them in SA.

We are so undecided. We like the KB house MUCH better as far as the layout, but the RBR house has a better lot and we like the subdivision a little bit better. It really is coming down to which is more important, where you live or what you live in. Because we are moving in three years, where we live is pretty important being we are going to be selling it.

On a side note..what is up with the garages in these houses? Why are they so small? Husband has looked at dozens of home and hasn't seen one yet that will fit both of our SUVs. He said that most places he has seen, everyone has their cars in the driveway. .

Sundance Ridge sits a little higher and the homes are more expensive with a little larger lots. If you plan to sell, then choose Redbird Ranch. Don't forget, when you sell a house, you're trying to sell a dream...not yours but theirs. You need a custom garage to fit 2 SUV's. Ours fits one SUV and one med/large sedan (19 ft).

Also, basements are rare in the area...and people tend to clutter their garages with stuff (that normally would go in the basement)...that's another reason you see the cars in the driveway.
