I remember buying gas for 19 cents a gallon over by San Antonio College. It was a gas war in the 1960's. I have a Subaru Pick Up late 1990's model. Takes about $30 for 1/2 tank @ $3.59 gal. I probably get 20-25 mpg.

Geez! I wonder why the hell I'm having to fill up every 1 1/2 weeks! Hmmm...I do spend a lot of time just sitting in traffic. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Spent a lot of time on "the 5" when we lived in SD as well. I think everyone does.

Yes, indeed. When I get home, I have to take a shower for sure. In the mornings not so bad.

Another TIP to save gas:

Don't sit in traffic or leave your vehicle idleing.....hehehe
If you can ask your bosses if you can come in on off hours to get away from rush hour stand still.

Fill up during cool hours, night or morning

Not sure on others.....
+ rep for that part

and yes it is cheaper to run the a/c instead of driving with the windows down. you look a lot better when you reach your destination too.. plus it's just too freaking hot here to not run the a/c. I cruised my parking lot today for a couple minutes with the window down, but had to give up that idea.

The Celica - 13.something gallons at $3.91. About $50. Car gets 40mpg, mostly highway.

The Porsche - about 18 gallons at $3.71. About $65. Car gets mid-20s mpg mixed / ~31-33mpg on the highway cruising at 80-95.

I keep the tires inflated as they should be and check them on weekends. A/C is used a lot since it's not winter anymore. I'm really big on preventive maintenance so that probably helps. If nothing else it makes emissions easier every couple of years.
