I would not recommend wood blinds since they show dust. They look good but you will be constantly dusting your blinds and it is impossible.

Just an FYI....I had faux wood blinds in my last home. I loved them and they were easy to clean. The only thing is that they are very heavy - heavier than real wood blinds. I am moving into a new home also next month and will be ordering the faux wood blinds. I have used Best Value Blinds before. Very good prices and good customer service. I don't think I can post their # on here, so you will have to look them up via the phone book or white pages on the internet! I am going through again

We had our blinds put in shortly after we moved in last year. The blinds are ok but I'm not thrilled with the customer service so I won't be using that company again.

We are now wanted to put blinds on the upper windows of our two story family room.

Does anyone know if the blind companies mentioned in this thread install blinds for windows about 18 feet up? My husband wants us to look into the remote controlled blinds - I'm just imagining the $$$ at this point!

Hate to bring up a dead thread, but if anyone searches for blinds this will still be relevant!

Made in the Shade of Wimberley. Will go up as high as needed for very tall windows, has remote controlled blinds, all different styles and colors - as well as the quality brands.

Best price you can find.. fast & free estimates. He also guarantees them and will come out to fix a problem for free. Steve knows his stuff!

Took him less than 30 minutes to install all of them (18) including the valances. 12 months later they look brand new.
I third Vintage Blinds. We used them on our home, most of our windows aren't typical sizes, and we didn't go bottom of the line. We paid $1,200, which included custom measurements and installation. We got 2", routeless blinds and couldn't be happier!
