Default San Antonio Single scene for men

24 year old man moving to San Antonio. I have read that it is a family place and not a good place for singles, compared to Austin. However, I like San Antonio because of how much females outnumber males (among other positive things)

So my question is, "Is San Antonio a good place for a single 24 year old male" or should I look elsewhere?

For finding a female?

People will say it's not a place for singles, but I've been to about 5 weddings in the past 2 years of formerly single men . All but one were not from SA, and came here single, meeting their partners here (most partners were also not from SA).

I think the hardest part is finding a social circle whom you click with. It takes time and effort. You can't sit home and wait for life to come to you. And it doesn't happen overnight.

well i am going to be teaching in the stone oak area and was just wondering if people (especially 20 yr old males) about the dating scene in San Antonio. I have been doing a ton of research, but I feel that this site gives more personal advice. After reading that for every 100 females their are 89 males in San Antonio, that seems like odds are in my favor.

You picked the right profession too. As a male teacher (what grade level?) you will find many co-workers who might be interested!

Also the clubs and bars in the Stone Oak area are classy, you should be able to find people there.

There are tons of ads around for a website specifically for single in sa - look for it, it might be worthwhile! And if it's your thing, church groups are another great place (if you really are interested in church - not just to find girls, that's just wrong!)

I agree with Turtle_Mom - I got here in my early 20's and there plenty of friends to be made. And yes you can even be picky about where you go and whom you hang out with, because there are plenty of places and people. And being a young teacher is definitely in your favor!

Welcome to San Antonio!

thanks for the many replies. I will be teaching 4th grade and yes I know the majority of teachers are females, which is a heavy positive. Any GUYS wanna comment on the single scene/female situation in northern san antonio. I heard that 70 percent of the population is obese is this true/ possible. Not trying to sound shallow, but I don't want to be dealing with tons of Rosie O'Donnels.
