Has anyone been to Steve and Barry's? I believe it's on SW Military. They sell inexpensive clothes, like Sarah Jessica Parker's clothing line where everything is supposedly under $20.00. I'm just wondering if it's worth the drive.

Absolutely!! It's my new favorite clothing store. A friend of mine introduced me. The last time I went, everything in the store was $9. Jackets, pants, hoodies, everything. And the quality is very good.

Whoa, $9?? That's like free. Is it like Old Navy? Not that there's anything wrong with Old Navy. It's just not right for me.

Thanks Aquajox! I just checked out the website. I can't believe how inexpensive everything is. I saw Sarah Jessica Parker on Oprah debuting her line a while back and I've been wanting to check it out. It's good to know that the clothing is good quality. Looks like I'll be making the drive!

Last time I went there, I must have spent about $100 on me, which I hardly ever do (wife and kids come first in my book). I did that because I was able to buy soo much with that $100, that it was well worth it! I got lots of nice clothes and shoes. Definitely one of my favorite places to shop...

Holy crap! Is this the way the store really looks?

YouTube - Steve & Barry's Store in San Antonio

I just watched an ABCnews clip--a great story about this place, so I went to youtube to see if it was there, and found this instead. Sad!!

Yikes! I despise shopping of any kind to begin with most especially clothes shopping...and if I were to walk in a store that looked like this, I'd turn around and walk right back out. Only because I have no patience to dig, to find a matching shoe, etc. I don't care how good the deals are. But that's just me.

Wow....just wow. I went to the S&B's in Orlando, and the shoe department was messy (there were tons of kids everywhere) but no where NEAR that bad! I will say that I'm not surprised. For some reason there are a lot of people here that just don't care about others or other's things.*

*obligatory disclaimer: Yes, I know there are also a ton of people here that DO care, and we love those people!

The store looked like Nordstrom's shoe department on a huge sale day - complete chaos and hordes of people plowing through boxes of shoes... except I didn't see one S&B store employee in that entire video clip, so it's likely that due to S&B's pricing structure, they understaff the store. So, unlike Nordstrom's, they get those huge mountains of untended merchandise everywhere.
