They will grow here. The deer like them too
Mine was only a couple of feet tall and the deer came in and ate it. It tried to come back a couple of times but everytime a leaf would come out the deer would nip it Now it is a dead stick coming out of the ground. Oh well, I guess the deer have to eat too. I buy them 1500 lbs of corn a year to try and keep them away from my plants.

Ours died every year until last summer. I wonder why?

This year it is HUGE! It covers like 3 windows in front of the living room.

It's a big fuscia one. I will take some pics soon. Its not as big as a house, but its still bigger than it has ever gotten.

I will take some more pictures...This was a very warm winter so there are a lot of bogies that are huge, and since the temps have been so hot this early in the summer season...the flowering has been awesome in the SA area!

My neighbors in Phx had a huge one, and it was only about 2 years old. Personally, I hated it because they litter so much and that all ended up in MY yard! Now our neighbors across the street have one about half the height of their 2 story house, and it's only about 3-4 yeas old. It's pretty wide too, 8 feet probably.

I've been thinking about getting Mandevillea, does it litter like the bougainvillea does?

My mandevilla doesn't litter--it's totally different than the bogie, though. Beautiful flower! Mine came back from the dead and they are thriving in the heat--I do water them lots, though. Plus they are now decorating my garbage can "screen" that we built, so even if they did litter, they're in the right spot! But they don't.....

Hello! Do you know how to winterize bougainvillea? I have a great trellis climber and I want to make sure it comes back in the spring. It is still blooming right now. Can you get it to come back in the spring in SA? I'd appreciate any info. you might have! Thanks!

Willing to move to Greece for it?! Apparently, flowers grow GREAT on Crete. My sister-in-law's husband has a commercial carnation farm there. Who'da thunk it?
