I third bolner but before I found out that I could get it cheaper i used to buy meats from there.

Now I get them at Direct Source meats! (not to advertise) but they have those shredded beef fajitas they use at Taco Cabana. and some good skirt steak, ****, bone in rib steaks and 72 ouncers. many many more. when I get chicken I get the breast cubes or shredds its 20 bucks for 40lbs (when i used to work at labatt)

These guys sell in bulk. the more you guy the cheaper it costs. Perhaps you've already tried their meats before as Taco Cabana's and Panda Expresses use their meats.

Give John Braden a call at 210-661-4216 ask to be transfered to DSM or Direct Source Meats.

A shoulder clod is a great piece of meat. Make sure you leave it untrimmed and USDA choice is a must. Most clods run 12 to 18 pounds. They will cost about $1.99 to $2.69 a pound, depending on the market.

I don't have any helpful suggestions but wondered if there is anything wrong or even "iffy" about Culebra Meat Market? Being so new to the area - is there something we don't know? Hubby actually stopped by the place today & brought home a price sheet.

My sister and her husband shop at a Culebra Meat Market (on Nacogdoches, I believe) frequently. What I've had from there was very good. My friend frequents the Culebra Meat Market on Marbach and swears by it. My husband used to make meat deliveries to several Culebra Meat Markets and said some he'd never buy from but others he would.

I've bought meat from there before. It just creeps me out to go in, though--I think I sort of referenced it above in post #5. The pig-shaped chorizo just kills me--don't ask me why, it just makes me sick to look at it.

Anyway, the meat was good, I just don't go in very often.

I've seen on the news a couple of times how they got low health code scores. So I stay away.

We have had friends bring meat over to bbq from Culebra meat market. They thought it was just wonderful. When they left, my husband told me to NEVER get meat from there. We just didn't like it. It was the chicken fajita and sausage.

I guess to each his own.

I fourth Bolner's .
