ophthalmologist/oral surgeon recommendations
Just moving to the SA area, and wondered about recommendations for a couple of medical professionals. Does anyone see a good ophthalmologist? I have had a detached retina in the past, so anyone that specializes in retinal problems is a plus. Don't really care what part of the city--I will definitely travel for the expertise.
Also, I will need a dental implant soon for a tooth that was extracted several months ago. Any recommendations on an oral surgeon who does implants?
Thanks for the help.

My husband had a detached retina about 4 years ago--I highly recommend Dr. Lina Marouf. She's great!

How did yours get detached? My dh had quite the run-in with a racquetball. WEAR YOUR GOGGLES WHEN PLAYING THIS SPORT!! He nearly lost his vision.

Thank you so much for the recommendation!
Actually, my retinal detachment was partial, and it was found in a routine dilated eye exam. I wasn't having any symptoms, and they told me it was just something that happened. There hadn't been any trauma to the eye, so it was strange. I was lucky to have a really good ophthalmologist who detected it early, so they were able to repair it with laser surgery.
So, it's really important to me to have a good eye dr. in my new city, and I really appreciate your help. Thanks!

I would have to recommend Dr. Steven Buckley for oral surgeon! My son had to have a dental re-hab surgery 2 yrs. ago (he is special needs) and Dr. Buckley and his staff went above and beyond the call of duty! He's in the medical center area and top-notch!

Thanks so much for that recommendation--I'm a little nervous about the dental implant, b/c I've never had one before. I really appreciate the name of someone who's good but also nice!

Just wanted to thank you both for your recommendations. My husband and I moved here about two months ago, and I have been able to see both doctors.
Dr. Marouf was wonderful. Very professional office, and she really knows her stuff.
Also, Dr. Buckley is just great. His staff is really helpful and he is very good as well.
Thanks again for the help. These dr recommendations really helped ease my mind. Much better than picking out of a list of providers!

I love Dr. Marouf. I am not her patient but know her through various social circles. She is super sweet and very down to Earth.
