Smile Some questions

Hey everyone

I have a few questions. We will be moving in the near future and San Antonio is one of the places we really like. Specifically, we like the cost living/housing, the weather, and the city amenities.

We would like to hear from people who live here about a few things:

1. I am a single mom, are there many single parents here, and do you think I would fit in OK?

2. What is this area like politically? Open minded, closed minded, conservative, liberal, etc.?

3. Do people who live here, in general, like the area?

4. What's a good college for business in the area?

5. What is the business climate like? My son wants to get a degree in business and he wonders if the area is a good place to do business.

6. What's a good, safe area that has houses for 100-125k?

Thanks everyone, I'm looking forward to seeing your answers.

My suggestion is that you read the sticky by new2sa. It's located at the top of the SA page. It'll tell you a lot about the city. It may not answer everything..but it'll give you a good launching point. Good luck.

1. There are a lot of single parents so you should fit right in.
2. Mostly conservative but it's an open minded conservative. There are all sorts of people here though with different political and religious views, different ethnicities etc.
3. I love it here. Yeah we will argue and honk at you in traffic. But if you need help, we're the first ones that will jump in and give you a hand.
4&5. I'm a science geek so I can't help you there.
6. There are a lot of safe places in SA. Depending on where your son wants to go to college and where you will be working there will be several neighborhoods and areas to look into.
