On topic... Cruisin' CDF when I oughtta be doing something else... and the list of other stuff is LONG.

In the turn lane (with blinker on...) I'd much rather be called a "newbie" than a "transplant". Makes me think of shrubbery. Though I hope to be permanently 'planted' in SA, I've been burned by thinking that before. However I will bloom wherever I get stuck in. (Metaphor now exhausted)

KYFilly and Mojo: I know-know-know where both of you are coming from!! I/we have done the apartment-in-new-town-while-waiting-for-house-to-be-finished gig. It was not fun and, you're right, it precludes you from meeting people. I'm also a 15-year military spouse (we did four years in the Reserves when I THOUGHT we were "done"). So I've been to those assignments that you just 'get through'. Funnily, some of my dearest friends are from those hellish few years. This next one (in SIX days!!!!) is going to be a doozie. I'm doing it by myself as my husband will be gone for our first 15/16 months in SA and we won't be attached to a unit there. So I'm hopin'/wishin'/prayin' for awesome neighbors!! I have visions of Stepford Wives arriving with casseroles and bundt cakes wanting to be BFFs.

I love a good adventure... :~}

I hope you get your wish. My question is, do you have your own opinion? I hope to hold a door open for you as I did for the lady walking into a Valero as I did earlier.
