I have never camped at Medina RV. I know the owners from church. We had a softball party there once and used the pool but that is about as far as it goes.
Thousand Trails is a membership only campground. We love it. They have scheduled activities, fireworks on the 4th of July and New Years Eve, they have dances through out the year. We don't really go to the dances, one time (it was New years eve) my parents went to the dance and said it was a hoot to watch the little old ladies chasing the men around . We are usually the youngest people camping. It is a lot of "full timers".
I am definitely going to check out the place you mentioned for RV supplies. Our RV needs some TLC right now. I would rep you but I just repped you for the Walmart suggestion in the other thread .

You should mention to Greg and Gina that you go to Thousand Trails and what all there is to do. I have been telling them for years that they need more stuff for the summer people, especialy when there is little water to play in. But I still love it there. We have met so many nice people there over the years that are there every summer and have friends that stay during the same time we go( some are going early this year Kimbo!!) We have a site right on the water so it's easy to get on the Jet ski and the Kayaks from our site. Maybe try it sometime. If your going to be at Thousand trails during the time we are at Medina and have a boat or Jet ski, come on by and say Hi.
I was being greedy on the rep thing but thanks for the thought.

We love Lake Medina, if you are into fishing and happen to get a site on the water, you have the convenience of not leaving your area to drop a line in the water. My husband has caught some great catfish there. I like the park because it is clean, has a lot of trees and the sites aren't on top of each other.
We have a site booked for the month of June and are going up tomorrow evening, can't wait! (ha ha Camper1 )

It would be wonderful if we could really get this thread going and find some great places to camp!

Oh, be very careful with second-hand tents. Make sure you put the thing up BEFORE you buy. Don't take anyone's word that it is "all there"!!
That's what made our beach trip so .. um... adventurous. My mom bought us a tent off of some Swap Shop (thing out where she lives in Seguin, like Craigslist but on the radio and in a call-in format) and the guy assured her all parts were there.
Well they weren't and we spent a long time trying to figure the thing out, in the wind and eventually in the dark on the beach. We finally figured out stuff was missing and through creative use of rope we were able to keep it "up" enough to sleep in, but it was not much fun. Of course we'll look back later and laugh but I wasn't laughing then!
Anyway, buyer beware. Just make sure it's all there before you buy used!

I'm going to jot these suggestions down, we love to camp. Most of the time it's near a lake since we have a boat. For camping close we like Potters Creek at Canyon Lake. they have nice & clean bathroom facilities & you can pick a site w/a screened in flat which we like.
