Please tell me what the best public schools are in San Antonio - elementary, middle and high school.

The schools in the district we live are not making the grade. There was a bond election a while back and the people voted against it so that meant not one field trip this year, not even to the zoo which should be a given.

Of course field trips are not my main concern but come on.

My high school aged son is in the drum line and they just lost their instructor. You may have seen this on the news. There are a lot of other cuts happening as well.

I know I canít afford a house where some of the good schools are but to ensure my children get a decent education I am willing to live in an apartment.

So please can someone tell me where my kids should go.

Thank you all in advance.

new2sa's sticky thread at the top of the list of threads in this board includes a category "Education" with a list of links that should be helpful. Here's an example link from that list.

The best regarded school districts in San Antonio...

In addition, I recommend the site below, which provides a map of public schools here, color-coded by performance.

Texas School Performance Maps

Good luck with your search.
