Well, we survived the drive down to SA. My MIL 2 kids & I in a little car for 1700 miles -whew!
Love the house hubby found & have already met a few nice neighbors
Thank you all for helping me figure out so many things before the move!

Any restaurant suggestions in the "50" (zip) area? We went to a Pizza/Chinese place today. Hubby thought it was wonderful but I'd give it about a 4 on a 1-10 scale.

Thanks again!!!!!!

Welcome to the hood!! You went to The House of Pizza, didn't you? They do have good food! Well, most nights......

Glad you survived the trip and if you're interested in walking in the evenings, let me know!

Well, it's pretty residential, not many REAL restaurants, but a lot of fast food places.
Lone Star Cafe at least has tables indoors, but you order from the counter. Food is 'ok', reasonably priced, I suppose.

Up a little further, out to Bandera, turn left and keep your eye out on the Left... Right past the Sonic on the Left, is a sit down pizza place, but you also have to order at the counter and they call your number when your order is ready AND they also have other Italian dishes. I had pizza; it was very good. There is also a little sit down restaurant in that 'plaza', but the name escapes me; I have yet to eat there.

If you want FINE restaurants, you'll need to go further east via 1604 and further South on I-10, though quite frankly, names of places elude me at the moment.... down near I-10 and DeZavala and beyond are some nicer restaurants... sorry, names are just not coming to the forefront for me...

OHHHH, at 1604 & 10, at the Rim, there is a Mimi's, an Olive Garden and a Bass Pro Shop that apparently has a pretty fine restaurant inside... Mimi's is pretty good; I always like the food I get there. Olive Garden is... Olive Garden, I like it, some people think it's too much of a 'chain'.

I'm sure more folks will come along with some good suggestions .....

If you go down I-10 to DeZavala - there is a Hu Hot Mongolian Grill. We love that place. We try to plan our trip to Costco(right next door) so we have time for supper at Hu Hot before heading home.

Welcome to San Antonio. If you're not busy on Saturday, we'd love to welcome you "officially" at the next Meet and Greet. We're meeting at "The Cove" at 4pm (see Meet and Greet thread for more details.)

San Antonio has been really great to our family since we moved here last year. I can't imagine a friendlier group of people than those on City Data!
