LOL I don't think the DM would take them from you since they've already given them to you. Good luck--and just keep your bills, um, tucked away.

Sweaty bills.....hmmmmmmm.

I've been working out all my life and NEVER had anything stolen from a locker. Why? I always bring my own lock - period. But I go into the locker room all the time and open a locker to use and some stupid dude has his clothes in there. I never check to see if there's a wallet or anything because I'm honest, but obviously not everyone is.

Agreed, that if you use a gym locker and you're putting valuable stuff in it, bring your own lock.

Added: In the addendum you signed when first starting with Spectrum, there's a large paragraph regarding Spectrum's liability in on-site theft... $0. If this went to court, you'd be out whatever it is you lost and likely moreso with the cost of a lawyer. Consider what the manager did a courtesy. Not everyone's a crook.

Not possible at Lifetime. You pick a locker, slide your card inside to release the key that they give you. You take that key with you when you work out (even has a safety pin to put it on your clothes.)

I guess if you are just going to the gym, then leave your main purse/wallet at home and just bring the essentials - gym card, DL and one credit card. Some women workout with a small purse on a string just so they don't leave their stuff in a locker. I have never worried about it personally, but I guess I should think about it more.

I like the Lifetime system too, but obviously someone has a main key to open all the lockers. I personally thought it was dumb for my hubby to put his Ipod in there, but he had being doing this for along time. He didn't even notice it was missing until he went to the car & grabbed his phone & his Ipod was gone & her checked his whole bag. so they took the time to look thru the bag at that.

Not to be argumentative (especially since I'm not familiar with the place in question) but the fact that the manager gave up the free months when technically the liability is $0 is all the more reason to talk to the DM.

In my mind, either they have an employee problem (which could include the manager who gave out the free months) and as Saph says, the company is getting screwed over by the manager, or they have a manager problem and he is covering his tracks.

Or, the guy could just be a nice manager who is trying to be cool. Kudos to him. If his boss finds out, he'll probably be fired.

If you guys have seen Boiler Room the manager reminded me of Michael, the mastermind of the whole thing. Maybe your right. But until I get my money back, I will leave as is.
