Getting ready to retire from the Navy (Houston, San Antonio: house, living)

I'm going to be retiring from the Navy in the Summer of 08 and trying to plan a head some. We have decided to retire to San Antonio due to the two Air Force bases there. We have friends that live in Cibilo but that looks like it would be a pain in the butt for a commute to the bases. I don't plan to work at them but just in case I want something closer. I'm not real picky about the type of house just what is around. The two things that I'm looking for is a Sports Bar to watch the Steelers every Sunday on, so if there are any fans that know of a Steelers bar please let me know. The other thing I want to be close too is a local Mustang club. I have a 2004 40th Anniversary that I love to cruise in. So with that in mind can anyone on here help us narrow down our search?

Cibolo is very close to RAFB. Almost no commute at all. It is however kind far from Lackland.

I retired about 9 years ago from the Air Force. I live in far west San Antonio (outside Loop 1604) and go to either Lackland AFB or Ft Sam Houston (near central San Antonio). Both are less than 20 minutes away and are larger bases than Randolph AFB. After you retire and assimilate into the civilian community, going to the bases will be less frequent, so living close by should not be a concern.
