Oh, that reminds me - the big water wasters SAWS!!! A few years back, during a drought/water restrictions summer, SAWS was installing some pipes in our street. The whole street was torn up and a big mess (the rat population seemed to be all displaced then too ). The workers were usually gone by the time I came home, but a couple of times I was home early, and found them using MY water to wash their equipment (the big earth moving things), wash themselves, wash down the street, wash everything in site...ours was the only house with a faucet out front that was easily accessible.

I wasn't bothered at all by a bit of use for drinking/washing hands, but this was excessive. I called SAWS right away to report it and say "You better not even THINK of charging us for all that water use!" After some discussion, they agreed to charge us based on our usage in the months prior - before they started work, for the remaining period that work would be done. Still, I'm not sure their machines really had to be so dang clean every day!
