I have some friends in town from DC, bunch of ladies in town for a bday. They are staying on the riverwalk and would like to go dancing and for some reason (lol!) they love 80s kinda music.
Any suggestions I could give them? Even tho I live in SA, don't go to the riverwalk much...

Any help would be appreciated!!

Definitely Bonham Exchange. That place is always a blast as long as you are not uncomfortable seeing gay and lesbian folks. It is definitely a blast there.

Also on the Riverwalk where Polyesters used to be is Acapulco Sam's/Kremlin. I think Acapulco's floor may play 80s music. Not sure but the floors do offer different music.

Kremlin is just a little too full of hood-like young folks for me to enjoy it. Plus, walking up and down those blasted steep stairs to get between floors is a PITA. And to call themselves 'upscale' is an out & out lie... Ain't nothing upscale about what they peddle.

The BX is probably the best shot downtown for non-hip hop music and a fun, energetic and spacious environment. It's considerably less GLBT than it once was, thanks mainly to the owners inviting in radio stations for live broadcasts (and the diverse crowd it attracts).

Checkout the lineup at Southtown 101. Some nights they have 80s music.
