If you go a little more north of Lantana which I believe are just north of 410 on Vance Jackson you will find nicer apartments but more expensive... the farther north you go on VJ the more expensive they get. If you go inside 410 or south the apartments get more shabby and inexpensive but honestly it isn't all that bad because I lived in that area for years. There are also alot of apartments off Jackson Keller between West Ave and San Pedro close to Lee High School. I would not call this a high crime area at all. Parts of the East, West and South side might be considered high crime areas but not off Vance Jackson.
