Everyone,
The house is finally completed and I'll be living on my land soon..yeah for me. Now I have to consider furnishing it. I'm going more for the Rustic Country look and am specifically looking for some good art pieces (I know jack about art). I'm hoping someone can help me locate a good country western artist. I've seen some of G. Harveys and to me their awesome but I'm wondering if there are others I should consider? Thanks in advance!

Try going to the starving artist exhibitions on the River Walk. Do they still have them often (every week?)?

^^^The weekend before Easter, anually.

Try looking in Kerville, for western art. They have a museum of Western Art, there. I personally love the Texas Folklife posters, past & present. My Father had some Remmington & Russell prints on canvas that I now have.

The Riverwalk does have some Arts festivals, but I'm not sure you'll find a lot in this genre.

SA in general has a ton of art offerings (First Friday, SW School of Arts and Crafts), but these are not specific to western style art.

My thoughts on purchasing art - just look and pick out what strikes you. Our house is a mishmash of art styles, but we love it

I'd recommend JR Mooney Galleries on Broadway... Great selection of Texas artists and a staff who really knows its stuff. I've been a customer of Bob Mooney's for years.
