I am looking for some unrestricted property, between 1 and 10 acres, outside of loop 1604. I'm pretty sure it can't be found inside of 1604, even out on the far east side, which is fine with us anyways. How many miles out from 1604 are we going to have to be willing to go to find this? We're leaning towards the west of 1604 as a first choice, and then east or south as our second and third choices.

We are wanting to use it as a homesite for a small 2 bedroom cabin with no electricty or sewer hookups.

I might add that the most we would want to spend is $30,000. We know that will push us out further, but that's all that we will warrant spending on land.

30,000 will get you one acre on 1604, maybe on the south or southeast side.

If you want more acreage than that, you are going to have to go past Comfort and Bandera if you want it in the hill country, or south of Pleasanton or east of La Vernia or Floresville if you want it just in the country.

Would that be for unrestricted property, or property within a subdivision?

It's been several years since I've looked for that type of property, but I would think you could find something in either the Devine/Natalia/Lytle outskirts area, or in Atascosa county (the Northern edge isn't terribly far outside of 1604). (And now you've got my curiosity peaked! )

I'll have to check that area out. I think I'll check out the Geronimo and Zorn area as well. I have no idea what I'll find in my searching out there.

Also check out towards Hondo, Castroville, LaCoste areas. Or even further west like Concan.

towards Elmendorf and out 281 is very low priced land, and a lot less restrictions. On the IH 35 corridor youre gonna have problems in a few years, not too far in the future
