The world of beer
Fat Tire is, by far, my favorite beer. I have visited breweries all around the US and the quality of New Belgium beers are superior.
I'm disturbed by the beers that have been presented as options in this thread. I'm willing to bet that you'll be disappointed if you take those suggestions, as most of them seriously lack flavor and quality.
My first suggestion would be for you to try other NBB beers. My other favorite is "1554", a black ale. What type of beer do you like? Are you an ale fan, stout, wheat beers or another?
For summer, I drink more pale ales and wheat beers, but they can vary drastically in taste from one brand to another. My favorite pale ale is Dogfish Head 60-minute IPA.

For wheat beers, my favorite is Bell's Brewery's Oberon (I'm not sure if it's available in TX, as they are out of Michigan.) Bell's also brews one of my favorite stouts, Kalamazoo Stout.

Another GREAT beer out of Colorado is the Old Chub Scottish Ale by Oskar Blues. They are packaged in cans and the brewer developed a water based coating on the inside of the can so that the beer does not come into contact with the aluminum. They also brew "Dale's Pale Ale" but I've never tried it.

Yet another good choice from CO would be the Tommyknocker Maple Nut Brown Ale. I've found that since they expanded their brewing capacities, Tommyknocker sometimes has quality-control issues where some batches aren't as tasty as others. Tommyknocker also makes a more potent version of the Maple Nut Brown Ale called Imperial. The only difference is alcohol content - it's around 10%.

If you can get Mendocino Brewing Company beer there, you might like it. There's the Red Tail Ale and the Eye of the Hawk:

Humboldt Brewing Company brews a Hemp Ale that's exceptionally good and in my top-10:

Rogue beers are generally good as well. Rogue probably has the most variety of any of the micro and craft breweries. Their standard is the Dead Guy Ale but it's never my first choice. They have more exotic flavors like the Chipolte Ale and the Hazelnut Brown Nectar that are better options. If you're looking for variety, check out Rogue:

I could give you several dozen other options, but this should suffice for now. Happy drinking!

Blue Moon is my hubby's favorite right now! I suggest going to the Flying Saucer off Huebner. They have hundreds of beers. You can order a Flight which is six 4 oz (I think) samples. It's a purposeful reason to drink beer

I met Eugene at the Marfa Film Festival - there was no booze on the set of "There Will Be Blood," so I settled for the dreaded beer he was handin' out, and lo-and-behold, I seriously dug it! That's how I found out about his swank beer - nice guy that Eugene.

I don't really like beer or liquor... maybe a few glasses of wine on occasion. I have seen to many people in their 40's/50's end up in the hospital over and over again with alcohol hepatitis, alcohol induced thrombocytopenia, encephalopathy, esophagel varices, chronic pancreatitis, hypertention, bone marrow toxicity, portal hypertension, vitiamin deficiency, cirrohsis and it is not a pretty sight so I have developed an aversion to the stuff. Alcoholics spend their life wishing they had never started drinking because they ruin their body by the time they are 30 and there is no going back with some of these problems after the damage is done so they pretty much spend the rest of their life in and out of the hospital feeling like hell. Not a fun way to spend your life. There is nothing more important than your health because without that you have nothing. Sorry, didn't mean to give a sermon... just hate to see people ruin their health before they know what they are doing to their beautiful bodies.

I said I wasn't sure if Bell's was available in TX, meaning that it COULD be available in TX. Besides, some people DO leave the state from time to time and Bell's is worth searching for.
