Okay ya'll. I don't drink beer, but that is because I don't like the taste. I have not tried most of the stuff that is mentioned, though. I wish I did like beer. It is less expensive than the hard stuff, which I don't have a hard time drinking. What would you guys recommend that I try so I can slowly begin to like the taste of beer? I am not an every day drinker. Just mainly during get togethers or parties.
Has anyone been to I think it is called Blue Star Brewery?

I know this is going to sound a little hick (or maybe poor college student-ish) but the first beer I could ever tolerate was Keystone. Everything else tasted nasty to me, but Keystone didn't have the bite...their commercials are spot on...you don't get the "bitter beer face" when you drink it.

I like Keystone ( made by Coors ). But after the first couple ( of any kind ) the rest usually don't matter. Just start with one you like. Of course back in my early years I liked Schlitz. Lone Star draft didn't use to seem that bad. Never really liked locals that much. I'm an old guy everything is light and mellow these days. Go for the taste not the hype or the imagined prestige.

BTW, Put at least your first couple beers in the freezer . Get em good and cold. Like a little ice in mine. Although, it does slow the flow!

OH MY GOD oh my oh my oh my
the excellent waitress at flying saucer recommended koenings hoven quad. wow stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid Good. excellent. so good that when i dropped my friend off the next afternoon we went in and splitone and it was just as good then too. Now im trying to find where they sell it elsewhere cuz 8 bux a pop is steep. but omg its sooo worth it.
Its made by Trappist Monks in their monasterys and some of the proceeds goes to their causes.
Abdij Koningshoeven
edit: I love Belgian and Belgian style beers. so prior to finding this gold mine of godly good beer my fav was Shiner Black Black. In fact I would call black a toned down version of koningshoeven quad beer.
