Nope.

Lower NE is bad.

Inner West is bad.

Parts of SW are bad

Parts of S are bad

Lots of downtown is bad.

Where did you get your "facts" from, n0vemberHAWK? If you don't mind me asking.

Somehow when I read that, I hear Mr. Mackey's voice from Southpark:

"Northeast is baad, m'kay?"

The Lower NE is bad? What exactly are the boundaries for the "lower NE"?

I agree, it's a bad area of the city.

I take it you've lived there?

Same question before, you've lived there correct?

This is a public forum with people from all walks of life. "Bad" is such a condemning word and hardly accurate. Older parts of town and some lower income areas may not be pristine etc......but there are many very proud and fine people that live in areas that may be better described as a "mixed bag". Even Alamo Heights and Terrell Hills and Olmos Park have that aging element that may look "bad".

If "bad" is crime, then crime stats and zip codes are more effective. Even better, SAPD police reports for neighborhoods and streets will be as accurate as it gets.

I agree with Novemberhawk, but at the end of the day, people need to come and see for themselves.

Hello Hello!! I definitely agree on the "see for themselves" part. I basically disagree with the generalities of the areas described. It's really hard to know what boundaries that N0v has in mind by just saying,
Lower NE, Inner West, Parts of SW, Parts of S, and Lots of downtown.

People from out of town really don't understand what those areas mean. And many are trying to preview locations from out of town and can't really see for themselves until they get here! I'm not sure this kind of information is all that helpful from an out of towners point of view.

If someone were to tell me that La Jolla and Santa Monica are the best areas San Diego or the LA area.....that might be great if I had millions. Not everyone moving here is in the same income bracket. Personally, safety is primary to me......so "bad" to me means crime.....others might measure by schools, or income. I'm just sayin'.

Smile Just Arrived

Thanks for your newbies info, it's very helpful as I have just moved here yesterday and have started the process of house hunting today. I've been looking in the selma, schertz, cibolo, and guadalupe counties. In your opinion, would these be safer areas? You mentioned that the lower NE is not too desirable, what counties/areas are located in that area? I really would appreciate if you can assist.

Selma, Schertz, Cibolo are all fantastic areas to live in. You won't go wrong with either.

By lower NE I assume he is referring to the Walzem area of the city, however that's not really "lower" NE.
