Hey folks,

I'm getting myself prepared for what has been coming for some time now: total knee replacement for left knee. I've had 4 surgeries, with the last one being a real doozie (saws, chisels, a hammer, and 4 screws were involved) and yet the pain has been steadily increasing for the past year.

Lately, it seems like the pain has gotten worse, and there is a constant grinding and/or crunching directly under and around the patella. It's time to swap the parts and get on with my life. I'm tired of being in pain.

That said, do any of you have someone you'd suggest? Ideally, I'd prefer someone on the NW side, but I'll travel a bit if the doc is really that good.

Thanks!

I had torn ligaments and a torn miniscus a couple of years ago and I was reffered to Dr. David R. Schmidt. He is actually the doctor for the Spurs, he did Tim Duncan's surgery. He was very nice and I felt very comfortable with him. I know it's not knee replacement surgery, but he is an orthopaedic surgeon. Good luck! Oh, and he IS on the Northwest side, he is located near the medical center.

Thanks mclor! I'll look him up and see what happens. Probably won't be until late Winter, but I need to start the process now. (MRIs and such take time...)
