Being called a "raging ranter" simply for offering my assessment of the real estate market--which should never evoke such personal ire from another poster--seems only to add credence to my argument.

The relevance is that bank collapses were caused by the housing market, and will have implications for further housing declines. I was also responding to another posters' question about what the effect of these bank failures will be on her decision to buy. Renter vs. ranter--still a personal insult and attack.

I'm hearing rumblings that National City might be next ...I believe that they are Cleveland based.

Sorry that my questions created so much "heat" on this message board. I still value your input hello13685. So...thanks again!

And a small side note to everyone:
I am a bit shocked that it can get so hostile so quickly in a forum like this. I believe that it's OK to agree to disagree while having a discussion. We schould channel our energy on relaying and exchanging opinions and information rather than attacking each other. PEACE!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Indymac went down, the FDIC only insured about 100k for each account. Obviously the people that had more than 100k in their accounts got screwed. Furthermore, the FDIC only has about 54 billion and already 9 billion was used for Indymac. So, if two more big banks go down, what's going to happen to the FDIC? Will they have enough?

Scary times. Folks, keep your finances diversified.

Anytime a real estate question comes up and I answer it, you post something trying to discredit me because I'm apparently "trolling for commissions", when in fact, I just answered a question.

If anyone talks about buying anything, you always jump in and tout yourself as brilliant because you rent and that anyone who disagrees is an idiot.

Your bit is getting tired and nobody really takes you seriously.
