Explains a lot, huh? (the fact that I'm from Portland! )

Seriously though... I remember taking a weekend trip to CC five or so years ago.. we stayed on North Beach (CC Beach) and drove all over looking for decent coffee. Finally found some place in the mall, and when we mentioned no Starbucks in town, people giggled, as if it was the most absurd idea, a Starbucks in CC!

I remember, growing up in Portland, that everything took years to come to us... if it was in fashion on the West coast, we'd see it 3, 4 years later every time.

One of the many reasons I'll never move back. My mom still owns a house in Portland ( within walking distance from the Starbucks in fact) and has tried to convince me to move back for years, but nope. She actually used the Starbucks as a way to try and get me to do it!
