How do you add almost 3 jobs?

Oh wait, you meant 2,900.

Funny how the article trumpets the seasonal gain of 2900 jobs in the headline and first paragraph and buries the seasonal loss of 3700 jobs in the last paragraph. If the Express-News published this story, the net loss of 800 jobs would be the headline.

Gotta love that Chamber of Commerce POV.

Did you not read the article? It was a gain of 2,900. Even with the government leting the teachers go for the summer.

So I'm wondering what "Government" jobs they are talking about.
I did notice a slight uptick on unemployment figures.
San Antonio is GROWING rapidly so more than 2,900 working capable people had to move into the metro area last month.

True...2900 jobs were created. BUT...9000 people joined the workforce! This means SA added 6100 unemployed people. Why is this good news? The unemployment rate has increased from 4.0% in May to 4.5% in June to 4.6% in July. (Yes, I know the city numbers aren't seasonally adjusted.)

Consider that 2200 of the 2900 were in the hospitality sector. Wow! You mean more people are hired to cater to tourists in the summer?! Knock me over with a feather!

Dead-end low-pay service sector work. Hardly anything that'll justify the # of people who graduate from our many colleges and universities every year.
