In all honesty, welcome to San Antonio. I hope you enjoy your stay and make a lot of friends. I'll even wish you luck with "the chicks" as long as my daughter isn't one of them.

Well, that is not always true, Yes, if I meet you in person, I would definitley tell my full name and whatever you wana know. But I do not think giving 2 much personal details in such public place where everyone views them and they might be a source of abuse by some weirdo. I would not agree on the bit that not giving too much personal info on the internet implies that one is up 2 no good! LoL, For example, if I give you my name, maybe if my professors see it after my questions about "chicks" would give a bad impression and I am not like that because I work very hard and have bulit a very admirable CV for someone in my age.

Hope you guys did not get me wrong

Thanks for your nice wishes Do not worry I do not really live up to the bad impression I have given about myself LoL. It was just a way of starting up a chat line and if I meet a girl, first question would be "Are you sure you're not Mister's daughter ?"

You haven't really made a bad impression, but you openly hinted about your nationality and then decided to conceal it. Not that big of a deal; I'm sure there are plenty of Americans masquerading as Canadians these days.

Hang on thar Shane....I did mention both campuses.....the Medical Center being sort of between both. But it might help if he did want to offer the info on which campus. Maybe the TMI?

Celeste....I agree that it might be better to find lodging closer to his particular campus.....but I recently helped someone with this very issue. For some reason the "extended" stay residences further away from the Medical Center seemed to have more "transient" or suspect "residents'? IE....they scared the H$LL out of me! The Medical Center seems to have short term (longer stay) patrons that have legitimate reasons for needing to stay for ill family members undergoing treatment or surgery etc.

You do have a good point about transportation, but if he is without a car, trying out the bus system will be good practice. Compared to some other areas that I've lived in....our VIA system is really pretty good unless there are a lot of cross town changes that are necessary. That being said....he may find short term extended stay housing near his campus too. At least he has plenty of options to check out. It makes sense that the University may have some info on short term housing......great suggestion!

I agree with you 100%~ Especially a forum like this where you cannot go back and delete information you post, unless its a short time after you initially post it.
Once it's locked in, it's hard to get removed! Wise words!!!
