Can anyone make a recommendation for neighborhoods in San Antonio with lots of kids??? We moved here 3 years ago after living in Houston for 10 years (both my husband and I are originally from San Antonio). We have already lived in two neighborhoods since moving back - both on the N. Side. The first in the 1604 / Blanco area and the second on 281 North of 1604. Both had their issues - the first had very snooty & catty moms and the second seems to have a lot of retirement families (friendly but we are looking for a neighborhood where our kids can play in the front yard with other children). It seems like there is a lot of "keeping up with the Joneses"... we didn't experience this in Houston.

I know in the $500k range homes in my neighborhood almost all of the have kids. Young families, is that what you are looking for? Try the Summit or Reserve at Sonoma Ranch. I know for sure The Summit does, The Reserve is newer and I only know a few families there. None of the ones I know are snooty either but realize that a lot of these new neighborhoods aren't made up of Texans, most of us are transplants. We looked at neighborhoods east of the 10 and didn't get the community feeling we were looking for so we stayed west. Kids play up and down the street were we live, that's the kind of vibe we like.

I like the 'vibe' where the kids keep quiet and are inside when the sun goes down. I don't need rugrats running around my neighborhood.
