How much Rain will We get?
Now, that Dolly is on land, does anyone want to hazard a guess as to how much rain San Antonio will get? Lets Say, Registered at San Antonio Airport, from Midnight tonite until midnite Saturday Night. Just a friendly guess contest. Hopeful ventures, wishes wants and desires,
Mine, I'll start, 3.5", 3 and 1 half inches.

Hey, to make it fun, I'll take the one that guesses closest out to a dinner at J. Anthony's new restaurant on Culebra and 410.

Hopefully, enough to quench the parched land, but not too much at a time as to cause flash flooding...from the weather reports, I'm hoping at least 2"...

the airport rain gauge has an umbrella over it, so I'll go with .30 inches

IN ADDITION TO REVISED POPS AND QPFS THROUGH THURSDAY AFTERNOON
BASED ON THE MORE NORTHERLY TRACK TRENDS OF DOLLY, THE LATEST
ZONE UPDATE ALSO TOOK INTO ACCOUNT A REVISION OF THE TORNADO
WATCH. THE WATCH WAS RESENT CLEAR UP A TECHNICAL ISSUE; THE ONLY
DIFFERENCE ON THIS NEW TORNADO WATCH IS THE TORNADO WATCH ISSUANCE
NUMBER. THE STORM TRACK UPDATE IMPLIES INCREASED RAIN CHANCES AND
A HIGHER LIKELIHOOD OF MINOR RUNOFF PROBLEMS, PARTICULARLY ALONG
THE ESCARPMENT FROM SAT TO DRT TONIGHT AND THURSDAY. LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINS OF 5 INCHES ARE NOW POSSIBLE OVER SOUTHWESTERN COUNTIES, AND
BENEFICIAL RAINFALL AVERAGES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES SHOULD EXPAND
NORTHWARD INTO PARTS OF THE HILL COUNTRY AND FARTHER UP THE I-35
CORRIDOR AS FAR NORTH AS AUSTIN. NEW VERSIONS OF THE HWO ARE
POSTED, AND GRAHPICAL HAZARD MAPS FROM THE WEBSITE WILL CONTINUE TO
BE REVISED AS NEEDED.
