Default Bennigans Closing?

Not a big fan of the place anyway.

Bennigan's Restaurants Shut Down Nationwide
Independent Franchise Locations Remain Open

CHICAGO (CBS) ― CBS 2 News has learned Bennigan's Grill and Tavern has closed all of its corporate-owned stores nationwide after filing for bankruptcy.

Independently-owned franchise locations remain open.

Bennigan's spokeswoman Leah Templeton said Bennigan's and Steak and Ale restaurants – both of which are owned by Plano, Texas-based Metromedia Restaurant Group – have filed for bankruptcy, along with the holding company S&A Restaurant Corp.

But not all stores that use the Bennigan's and Steak and Ale names have filed for Chapert 7 bankruptcy, Templeton said in a statement. Franchise locations are not named as debtors in the bankruptcy filing and thus are not affected, she said.

Sort of liked the Steak & Ale's. Last one I went in was in Arlington. Think there was one here on northside, forget where exactly.

Steak and Ale closed here some time ago. I heard 2 Bennigan's here have closed. They apparently did not open today and that was before the bankruptcy was filed this morning.
I never enjoyed the place, so I don't care. Appleby's is the same type of restaurant, I wonder how it is doing.

We have an applebee's near us. I don't like their steaks always taste awful. They marinade them or use some weird seasonings on them.

So anyone know if the SA Bennigan's are still open? For some reason I'm always in the mood for something as soon as I find out I can longer get it..

Honestly I have been surprised that Bennigan's, Appleby's and Friday's have stayed open as long as they have. When I see them - they are never as crowded as say Chilli's. Chilli's seems to have aged better than the other three.

Interesting thing, since I just ate there at a location in Plano last night. It was just okay, the prices weren't bad. I'm guessing the people working there really had no idea that they would be closing today.

that is the awful part and I feel sorry for those people. My wife had a job once where she went in one day and there was a sign on the door that said they were closed and nobody worked there anymore. That was a bad day..
