Does anyone have a recommendation for a non-denominational church in the UC/Schertz/Cibolo/Selma/Garden Ridge area? We visited Grace Community (which I LOVE) and as soon as my husband saw people put their hands in the air, I lost him. He was raised strict Church of Christ and apparently the congregation he went to would never do that.

ive been going to brcc
ive been going to brcc church and love the worship because it's pretty much rocked out, but would like to visit other churches where worship is free in the spirit and praying in tongues and the word is STRONG. I like to worship to UNITED from Hillsong and Deliriou?. But was taught in a penticostal charismatic holy spirit filled and Strong in the Word church. Is there a church that sounds like what i'm trying to describe out in san antonio. I like brcc because of the music worship and my kids love sunday school and monday night fuel for the teens. just curious...and like to visit other churches also.....kinda like going to a friends house on sunday and seeing how they worship OUR GOD! =)

yodi,
We go to Grace Community in the Helotes area (KC Hall off Camp Bullis Road). If that's the church you speak of, I think it's on the path to doing some really great things in the community. Cameron Hall (pastor) has a real passion for Christ and a vision to reach out to the community. I can sympathize with your husband--I grew up in Assemblies of God churches where raising hands and speaking in tongues where commonplace. It can be intimidating to someone who isn't used to expressive worship.
Cameron actually did a sermon on raising hands--really powerful. DM me if you'd like a copy and I'll let Cameron know. (They don't have them online at the moment...)

I LOVE the worship at BRCC!!! It sounds like you and I have the same taste. I go to The Church at Stone Oak which has similar worship with a stronger message. TCASO is a Four Square church, holy spirit led and praying in tounges is encouraged. However if a strong penticostal influence is more important to you, I would suggest Westover Hills Assembly of God. The worship is contemporary with a twist, and the word is very strong. It is definately a holy spirit filled church and Pastor Ryan is a very gifted leader.

bible loving home church. small. if you visit one you will not be a passive onlooker being entertained by the one performer on stage. you will be part of encouraging and building up the body of Christ. you will be taught and encouraged by multiple people with mulitple gifts. you will not seek to find a great "pastor" or great "worship" but rather seek to excel yourself in having something to bring to the body of Christ.=)

All you need is an open heart to receive the love that is coming your way from all of these special cristians. They want to grow bigger and bigger all they need is you to open the door and come one in if you want to do something special in the church volintere your time or exatra they can always use the help ivolintered during bible camp this week and i feel so appreciated and like i really made a difference by the way my daughter is disabled and attended as well they were very supportive and accomidating to her needs it was great!! Does anyone ever do "home church"? Like when one of our kids is sick- or our schedule doesn't permit the service times, we do home church. We piak a subject to pray on that day and the kids read from the bible and we just sit and discuss, we always finish with saying one thing positive about each member of the family and then my husbands says a family prayer. I just wondered if anyone else does this---as I would love more ideas.
