San Antonio OTA Signal for HD (help)
About 3 weeks ago we disconnected our HDTV upstairs to put down wood floors. We have since replaced it but for some reason when trying to scan for OTA channels, we can only get 29.1. I can't get 4.1, 5.1 or 12.1 which are the ones I mainly watch. I don't have cable or satellite, just the free OTA with an antenna set up outside to receive the signal. I had previously been able to view these channels. I know this is a complex question so I hope I can get help here before going to the home theater forum. I can't understand why KABB comes up all the time but no others do.

Is the antenna is connected to the proper connector and is the TV configured to use the right input?

My first thought was that the KABB transmitter might be in a different part of town than the others, but it's also southeast of town, near Elmendorf. ( Map)
Even so, there might be an issue with the direction of your antenna. Try rotating it so that you get the best signal strength from KABB. The other signals should improve, too.

Also check the settings on your TV. That may have gotten changed on the menu. Make sure that you have it to the right settings as mentioned earlier by Mister, someone may have changed them, or by disconnecting something they may have defaulted to cable, not air for antenna. Go thru your menu on the TV settings. also chek the, input on the back, just might have accidentally put it in the wrong one, DVD? VCR? got those inputs correct?

I am pretty good at connecting the wires, I have always had a stronger signal from 4, 5 and 12 then 29 so that is what is freaking me out. I will need to look further into it but the TV settings I think are not the issue. I think it's the receivers settings but they all seem okay. Thanks for your responses.

If I swapped the coax, wouldn't I not have gotten any feed at all? I am pretty sure I got it right but you bring up a good point.
