I happen to love Boudros. They've been around forever, and have built a strong reputation although like any long-time institution have both fans and detractors. Another FANTASTIC restaurant that is not technically on the Riverwalk but only steps away is Bohanan's. You will not find better service and a more fabulous meal in San Antonio. Be prepared for a substantial investment, but it's definitely worth it!

I love Bonhanan's, not a riverwalk view but well worth it!

Acenar has a great atmosphere, good service and good food. Maybe not the BEST but it's certainly overall an enjoyable experience.

I used to love Biga on the Banks, and their food is still good but was disappointed in their atmosphere last time I was there. They seemed to be catering to a business crowd, the place was very loud and the waitstaff seemed to be rushing people out the door. As my previous experiences had been of a nice, romantic atmosphere where you can linger over your $150 meal, it was a bit disappointing.

Boudros. Eh. Not a fan. It's not bad or good, IMO. Food is nice but not anything to write home about. My biggest complaint is the atmosphere and service - it's always packed because every hotel concierge sends their conference attendees there. So the staff REALLY rush you out and the tables are so close together literally my back was against someone else's back. Not great for conversation. Given the price I don't find it that worthwhile.

Pesca is wonderful in all respects - food, atmosphere, service.

My favourite restaurant in San Antonio is not on the riverwalk, but a few blocks south - La Frite. Excellent food, excellent atmosphere, excellent service.

The above restuarants are good rec's.

I'll suggest another one, Casa Rio. They are located on the riverwalk or you can eat inside. In my opinion, they have the best enchiliadas in town. It's one of my favorite places to eat Mexican food and their top shelf ritas are yumm-o!

Boudro's for me but you have to eat outside in the winter when they have the heaters going. Very cozy and you don't get the loudness from the dining area.

I have heard that Biga is great but I haven't had an occassion to go there.

I'm also putting in a vote for Acenar. Since it's at the end of the "restaurant district", you can park for free (after 6pm) along the streets relatively close by.

Besides, any restaurant with an Eames chair in the lobby has got to be good.
