Default Carpet Cleaner Recs for San Antonio

I could've sworn there was already a thread for this...if anyone else finds it, please clue me in!

In the meantime, please give me your thoughts on carpet/steam cleaner services you have used here in San Antonio.
I've never used a service, usually only rented a machine for smaller areas, but I want to price having someone else do it.

Thanks in advance!

We used Steamer's and we loved it! It was $99 for three rooms, which I think is pretty standard. They did our living room, hallway, guest room and bedroom. There was a pretty dark mark leading from our utility room to our hallway where people's shoes would first hit the carpet. It was completely gone, and it's been over three months and hasn't returned. Our carpet was clean, fluffy, and smelled cleaner too.

I heard you're not actually supposed to use steam to clean your carpets, something about the moisture. We used ChemDry back in MD and loved them, I see they're in SA, but I haven't used them here.

Default San Antonio Carpet Cleaners?

Howdy CD'ers,

Just wanted some opinions from good carpet/rug cleaners that have been successfully used here. I've had so-so experiences with services like ChemDry and Stanley Steemer... Anyone have better suggestions?

Thanks much

We called South Texas Carpet Specialists. They are supposed to come out today. Does anyone know if they will come if it is raining? It's a downpour right now and I don't know if I want them dragging all of their equipment in our house if it's raining this bad.

Default carpet cleaners

I have lived here over 50 years and used several folks over the years, but the most dependable I have found is Alladdin. They handled a minor fire cleanup for my ins company....owner used to be with Blackmon-Mooring.... and I have used them ever since, about 15 years. They have a website with discount coupons and they will clean your rugs at their store.

After the fire, they also deodorized my furniture and cleaned out the A/C ducts. We were only out of the house for 5 days.

I have them do the carpets 3-4 times each year due to animals and I still have my living room wall to wall carpet from 1989, and it looks like new.

Oy. I'm responding to my own inquiry... Here's my scoop:

Went with Aladdin Cleaners. Was quoted one price, but when they got here, they added a few hundred and I went thru the roof.

I threatened to walk, taking my business to Stanley Steamer and their bluff faltered. The $180 quote stuck.

This is simply an FYI. Stick to your guns with these guys. Sure, they did a great job, but it could have been highway robbery at nearly $500.

I took an oriental rug to Alladin. They were the only ones who would touch it. I demanded a quote before they took it, they wanted to wait until it was done. It was done very well, I forget the cost but it was resonable considering no one else would take the rug to clean it.

I've had Blackmon Mooring (exuse me if I spelled it wrong) come out to my home. They do an excellent job. The price is just right too.

Give them a try.
