Default Gordon Hartman won't be running for mayor in 2009

Ken Rodriguez's column reveals that Gordon Hartman has decided to skip next year's mayoral race and focus on building the Special Needs Park and soccer complex.

www.mysanantonio.com >> Ken Rodriguez - Hartman to swing for a park in '09 — and not for City Hall

Get ready for for Cibrian or Castro as mayor.

Wow. It's a shame he can't do both. Given the two, I am glad he is creating what will be an awesome place for children with special needs.

Gordon Hartman seems to have the vision to keep the progress rolling in SA. I wonder who else will be our choices. I was fully expecting him to run. Maybe he'll change his mind again.

Agreed. I've always respected Gordon. I liked that as a homebuilder he saw an opportunity for infill housing - one of his model homes was just off Hildebrand by Monte Vista.

In a race between Cibrian and Castro, I think that Castro would easily win. Now while I do like Castro (voted for him a couple of times for councilman), he does have some political backers who I do not care for at all.
