Sewing Machine repair for Cheapskate
Does anyone know where to have a machine serviced in the Schertz or NE San Antonio area ? I don't sew often, but would like the option. I really hate to buy new if I think it can be saved...down with planned obsolescence! Thanks for any input.

My mom is trying to repair her old Viking sewing machine, too. I hope someone responds to your thread!
Maybe go to Hancock fabrics and ask?

Don't know of any in your area, but there is one on Culebra (NW side) outside Loop 410 on North side near Pipers Lane (Singer Sew & Vac).

Used to be a repair shop on Thousand oaks and Nacodoches, right across from the Bowling alley.

Thanks, I'll try that. Thanks too to Steelman but I prefer not to drive that far for a relatively small job.
Years ago there was this really nice, retired man that I had found. He did a great job at a good price. Oh, well....

who knows about that, there's some older machines that are worth more than the newer ones.

Thanks, that was my point. This is a Singer that doesn't have a lot of plastic so I think it is worth it.
