I can't believe it. I came home yesterday to see that the beautiful forest behind my house was gone. It seems that they are going to build a new HEB superstore right behind my house. They chopped down ALL of the trees. They could have left some trees to protect those of us who have houses facing this. Now instead of facing a beautiful forest, I will have to look at the back of an HEB superstore. Not to mention the noise level going up, too. Why are they going to build it here in the middle of a residential area? I just cried and cried. So long deer and birds. HEB is coming. Does anyone know anything more about this?

Crying in San Antonio

That was done behind Westcreek - I used to live on Sage Run, and there was a huge ranch back there that was sold for commercial used, carved up, and then left sitting. Big piles of dead trees everywhere.

The school back there will be done soon I think, and I don't know if anything else has begun building. But what a waste.

Is this the huge piece of land that was cleared by the land owner and now he's selling it? Supposedly, this was the loophole that cleared the way for land clearing.

Found your post on another section.

"I agree with you. Please read "HEB superstore" that I just posted. I moved out here off Boerne Stage Road for the quietness and beauty. Now, it's going to be all gone for me. I need to come home to quiet and peacefulness. Not this construction. I wonder if my property value will go down because of this."

And my post from that other thread in response to your post there:

"Did you seriously have NO idea this would be happening? I just can't understand how someone would have no clue that HEB was going to be building in their "backyard", and come home ONE DAY to what had earlier that morning been a "forest" ~ to it all being gone. Not baggin' on you, just can't understand it."

It's down the street from the little Leon Springs HEB. (on access road about 1/4 mile going up west on I10) It's my understanding that they will then be closing the Leon Springs HEB for the newer one.

The one off Wiseman? It was on the front page last Sunday. The owner rented the property ( both side of the road!!) out to a rancher and he is the one that plowed down all the trees so the undergrowth could grow for the cattle to eat. It was huge article.

Lesson learned: beware when buying a house adjacent to commercial property because those cows and trees could become a big box store.
