Massage Heights vs Massage Envy
I've never gotten a massage at a chain massage place. Does anyone have experience with Massage Heights or Massage Envy? They are certainly cheaper than a spa, but why?

I went to Massage Envy several months ago. The $39 deal is an introductory offer - first timers only. They operate on a membership basis. I don't remember the prices but you buy a monthly package - 1 a month, with member price reductions on additional services. I would love to do it - had a great massage - but $$ of course is the issue.
I got a gift certificate from Massage Heights for a friend of mine and it appears to be virtually the same deal - even the prices (??).
BTW- I had not returned to Massage Envy in several months, and recently got a phone call from them offering me a second massage at the introductory price. I'm contemplating one more visit. (How many more discount massages will they offer me?)

I recommend Spa D'Sante. Everyday price is $35 for 1 hour.

Ditto to Spa D'Sante.
They can all do it so cheap because thats all they do, no other services (nails, hair, facials, etc.)

There is another whole thread on Massage Envy in one of the health forums or something if you search for it. I've been a member for about a year. I LOVE IT~!

massage envy is a cattle call
they pay there therapist less that 20 a hour to do massage
a sweat shop if you will
how could they keep a skilled therapist there when they can make 50+ and tips at a spa hotel hospital
its usually people who just got our of school or that suck
i dont waist the money there
a skilled therapist is worth the money
dont know about Spa D'Sante...but sounds like the same
i have been a therapist for 10 years in texas

They both seem prime for "naughty" massages. Sketchy.

Massage Envy, Heights, etc
Actually, these places can attract great therapists for $20 - $35 an hour.
Therapists don't have to advertise, market, pay rent, utilities, supplies.
This frees them to offer excellent treatment without admin concerns.
also, if you don't like the therapist, just change to another down the hall.
The franchise started in Stone Oak.

They are both chains, and safe. Been to all of them, I'm a spa addict. Spa'd sante in Alamo Heights is the nicest and best deal. I don't care for Massage Envy, they run you through like cattle, and it doesn't have a "spa" atmosphere, really plain and sterile looking. Massage Heights was OK. But it all depends on your therapist.

I belong to Massage Heights at Potranco and 151...recommend them and enjoy it.
They are VERY above board and have nothing to do with "naughty" type of services....your in Texas now honey, not Detroit anymore! Time to update your thinking...
